Introducing Historic America's First Charleston Audio Tour

As we navigate a changing and often challenging pandemic travel market, we have found a number of ways to remain connected to our passion: sharing the American story with travelers, while still keeping ourselves and our community safe.

Our newest tour options are GPS activated guided audio tours, created with UC Places. This partnership allows us to show off historic American cities all across the United States, from right here in Washington DC.

This week, we’re pleased to announce the publication of our first tour in Charleston, South Carolina!  Charleston 101 focuses on “must see” attractions and offers a glimpse into the rich history and storied past of this remarkable city. Highlights include the Charleston City Market, a waterfront park with a view of the the third longest cable-stayed bridge in the Western Hemisphere, the famous Rainbow Row, and the spot where the Civil War began.

This tour was co-authored by Historic America guide Victoria Lewis. A graduate student of History at Georgetown University, Victoria is a teacher by trade, and an unapologetic history nerd. Originally from the state of South Carolina, she spent many days wandering the streets of Historic Charleston. The audio is recorded by our very own, Aaron Killian. Please enjoy the tour, and don’t forget to rate your experience!
